Short Bio

Dr Petros Siegkas, studied Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), and then at the University of Oxford for a PhD in collaboration with Rolls Royce, on the static and dynamic experimental characterization and modelling of porous materials for biomedical and aerospace applications. He continued at the Impact Engineering Laboratory of the Solid Mechanics Group at Oxford University, as a postdoctoral researcher in collaboration with industrial partners (Rolls Royce, TIMET). He then joined Imperial College London as a postdoctoral associate, working on projects related to traumatic brain injury, and then Nottingham Trent University as a senior lecturer. He is now a lecturer at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), in Mechanical Design and Additive Manufacturing. Current topics of interest include 3D printed meta-materials, biomechanics, impact, digital twins, engineered porous materials, generative machine learning in materials, reproduction of digitally reconstructed structures for preservation and study of cultural heritage, and other.
