EVA International Conference on Digital Technologies and Historical Culture
Description of the event
The purpose of this conference was to act as a meeting of professional communities operating in Brazil and the European Union, enabling the exchange of experiences, mutual learning, and the construction of joint projects. This initiative was held online and in synergy with the increased cooperation between the European Union and Brazil. Cultural heritage is a key element in promoting socio-economic development, but its full potential – as an engine for innovation and growth – is still waiting to be realized. To address this gap, it is necessary to address the complex links between traditional cultural goods and policies (cultural heritage, dynamic cultural institutions, and services) and the opportunities provided by new demands and needs in today’s society. This implies involving individual and collective subjects who work in the field of cultural heritage with those who develop and implement advanced technologies in tune with the new digital civilization. The digital civilization is quickly constituted due to the impact on society of ICT in its various facets.
