Conference on Computer Applications & Quantitative Methods in Archaeology (CAA 2021)
Description of the event
In the framework of the international conference CAA 2021, the -ERA Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage was co-organizor of the event and organized a round table discussion about the MNEMOSYNE project with distinguish experts from the area of Digital Cultural Heritage.
CAA is an international initiative which brings together profesionals of the area of archaeology, mathematics, and computer science, architecture, civil engineering chemical engineering and the wider multidisciplinary area of digital cultural heritage. The main aim of CAA is to encourage communication, networking and knowledge transfer on the latest advancements in the domain of Digital Cultural Heritage among the experts.
The 2021 conference, although originally scheduled to take place in Limassol due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and restrictive measures, was held online for 5 days (from 14 to 18 June 2021).
Impact
Our project was actively involved in the organization of the event and the ERA Chair team had the opportunity to held a special session including key professionals from the domain of digital cultural heritage highlighting the latest challenges in Digital Cultural Heritage such as underwater digital documentation, crowdsourcing, Artificial Intelligence and 3D modeling.
Over 303 participants were actively involved in this special session.
